A Sunday Sunset Run to Clean The Beach

Bring your dog and watch the sunset on the city during a beach run while cleaning the coast and raising funds for environmental programmes

You don’t need to be a marine biologist to save the ocean. You can also help keep Cape Town’s beaches clean on a sunset run in Blouberg when the Plastic Free Oceans Beach Series happens on 28 April 2019.

WOODEN MEDALS AND SUNSET RUNS ON SUNSET BEACH
Tackle a 3km, 7km or 15km run along Sunset Beach … as the sun sets. Collect at least three pieces of litter on your run, big or small, and you’ll take home a unique wooden finisher’s medal. The route starts on the beach and heads towards Doodles, then back to finish where you started for a 360-degree return run with some of the most beautiful sunset views in Cape Town.

DOG-FRIENDLY AND KEEPING IT CLEAN
The run is dog-friendly too, provided they’re on a leash. There won’t be any cups or sachets on route, so runners are encouraged to run with a water bottle or camelback.

RAISING FUNDS AND AWARENESS
The entry fee and all funds raised will go towards growing environmental programmes for Clean C, which include beach cleanups, youth environment and education programmes and their recycling collection.

ENTRIES TO THE PLASTIC FREE OCEANS SERIES
The entry fee costs R80pp for all distances.
