Loch Lynne Wine Estate is set on sprawling lawns overlooking a lake in Durbanville. It is known for its wines, but it has plenty more to offer, including awe-inspiring hiking trails that the whole family can enjoy, enormous jungle gyms for the kids to play on, live music and a variety of exceptional cheese boards.
SUNSHINE, CHEESES, AND LIVE MUSIC ON THE LAWNS
No matter what the size of your family is, there is something for everyone. Picnic baskets for two go for R250, or a family basket for four is R450. There are also single kids picnic baskets for R60 each. There is also a wide variety of drinks on offer, such as selection of bottled Boland wines, including Merlot, Shiraz and a deliciously crisp Sauvignon Blanc. There are also hot drinks and soft drinks available for non-drinkers and kids.
Enjoy one of their picnic baskets, which includes fresh baguettes slathered in butter, a cheese and charcuterie board, fresh crunchy pickles and a chicken liver and sage parfait, while overlooking the glistening lake at sunset. There is also live acoustic music during the day, so you can set up on the shady lawn, pop open a bottle of wine, and get comfy on the large cushions while you listen.
HIKING TRAILS THAT EVERYONE CAN ENJOY
Take in the idyllic views of Durbanville’s rolling hills from one of Loch Lynne Wine Estate’s beautiful hiking trails and bring your pets along. These trails are suitable for all ages as they are short and easy, ranging from 2.8km to 3.5km. However, if you’re after a longer walk, you can add loops to cover more ground.
A PERFECT FAMILY DAY OUT
Kids will be entertained all day at Loch Lynne. There is a brand new jungle gym which has swings, slides, a sandpit and plenty of climbing rails for your kids to play on while you enjoy a glass of wine on the lush green lawns.
VISIT ANY SATURDAY THIS OCTOBER
The picnics and hikes are on offer every Saturday until the end of October, so be sure to make a booking for the weekend that best suits you. For bookings, contact Robyn Viljoen at +27 61 636 2393
