A flame-grilled sirloin with a glass of wine over beautiful views
Monday can end well. Imagine this: a flame-grilled sirloin, bone marrow, roasted garlic and cauliflower mash, served with a glass of Warwick Estate First Lady, white or red. This is another one of Sotano Mouille Point’s excellent specials. It costs only R150 and available every Monday until 10pm.
A PLUMP TAPAS AND DINNER MENU ...
Sotano, across from Mouille Point promenade, is where you pop in for a quick glass of wine after work, which soon turns into another glass, and before you know it the sun is sinking over the Atlantic. On a beautiful day with a glass in hand, tapas is usually the way to go. There’s vegetarian tapas (grilled corn, curried chickpea & spinach, Spanish garlic mushrooms), calamari a la plancha (garlic, chilli, chorizo, cucumber and tomato salad with salsa verde) or lamb koftas in a Catalan sauce (garlic Napolitano) topped with grated parmesan and toasted crostini.
Dinner can be a more serious affair. There’s a menu full of delectable options, from squid ink risotto, seafood linguine and duck pithivier. The menu changes seasonally.
… AND THEY’VE GOT SUSHI
Sotano Mouille Point has a sushi menu along with an open-plan sushi bar. Besides the classic dishes and platters, you can expect items such as the Sotano Fashion Sandwich (spicy salmon, prawn, avo and mayo with teriyaki sauce) or the Sotano Crunchy Salad, consisting of finely chopped marinated salmon, tuna and crispy bacon (among other things), plus a special Asian sauce as a topping.
