Loved by locals, House of H now does delicious new lunch specials – from boerie rolls and ice cream to chicken vetkoek – every Wednesday for just R50

Every Wednesday lunch special is something new. But H is cooking, so you know it’s going to be good. When writing this we just had a House of H boerie roll and Vanilla Truck ice cream with a marshmallow. The week before it was H’s incredible chicken vetkoek.

R50 LUNCH SPECIAL AT HOUSE OF H
“We want to offer people something easy and delicious,” says H Koen and Poppie, “but we want people to be able to afford it, so we’re doing our lunch specials for R50.”

THERE’S MORE IF YOU FEEL LIKE IT
The lunch special is so that you can pop in and pop out if you want. But, of course, you’re welcome to sit down and eat. House of H is famous for their food and decor: think marmite-jar chairs and cool post-apocalyptic-hideout style restaurant and rooftop bar with food so good Capetonians drive from all over – Northern Suburbs, Southern Suburbs, etc. – to come here specifically.

TRY THE BURGER, CHIPS AND SALAD
And, for a sit-down lunch you might also want to have a look at their burgers. There’s a classic cheeseburger, chicken and “Karoo oyster” veggie option and they go for about R105. But, what you get here is a generous (and we mean generous) portion of chips with H’s famous chilli sauce – the one in the glass skull – and three helpings of salad of your choice. From roasted veg to quinoa, kale and fancy coleslaw, the salads are excellent.

And, if you add it all up you get a big plate of food for just R105. It’s easily one of the Cape Town burger meals that everyone has to try at least once. Plus: House of H has loads of other very delicious food options on the menu.
