Where to go for a long Saturday breakfast in Green Point

Breakfast buffet every Saturday with shisha and sport upstairs

This Green Point café is made for slow, lazy Saturdays. Café Extrablatt’s breakfast buffet runs all morning, with a hearty spread of croissants, breads, cold meats, cheeses, bacon, warm waffles and an omelette station. And when breakfast turns into “what now?”, there’s shisha and live sport upstairs.

START AT THE BREAKFAST BUFFET  

Café Extrablatt’s buffet spread is a proper feast. If you’re a savoury breakfast person, there’s plenty of meats, cheeses, freshly-made omelettes, and salads. 

Or try something sweet like their pastries and warm waffles (served with cream, toppings, ice cream or Nutella). Breakfast is from 9am to 12pm every Saturday. 

The brunch buffet on Sundays makes Café Extrablatt an easy place to visit in the morning with the family; there’s even a kids corner with chalkboards, books and toys.

SHISHA ON THE BALCONY 

After breakfast, you can wander to the shisha lounge on the top floor. Tobacco flavours come in watermelon, mint cream, cherry and more, and are best smoked on the breezy balcony overlooking the vibrant Green Point. 

And our favourite part: The bar has top local DJs playing on weekends and there’s even an old-fashioned cigarette machine.

STAY FOR THE FOOTBALL

Big sporting events are shown live on both levels of the café, with a preference for football. It’s one of the only places in the city where you can watch the Fußball Spiele of the German football league, the Bundesliga.

Café Extrablatt has three-hour happy hours and pizza and burger specials, too.
