SELF-CATERING ACCOMMODATION IN THE CBD 

The Barracks has such an interesting history. It was originally used as a Lutheran Church warehouse in 1767 before it became a military barracks (hence the name). Now, it’s a chic aparthotel in the CBD.  

The apartments are flooded with plenty of sun, thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows and open-plan living area. Each apartment also has engineered wood flooring, an en-suite bathroom, and functional kitchenette.

Views of Bree, Strand and De Waterkant streets come standard while private balconies overlook Table Mountain and Lion’s Head.

ROOFTOP WELLNESS CENTRE WITH YOGA   

The views are just as good from Light House Holistic, the rooftop wellness centre. The space is calm and inviting with lots of light wood, cream interiors and plants, making it serene for yoga, pilates and meditation classes. 

Outside, the raised saltwater pool and cream umbrellas add to an ever-summer beach club feel, and there’s a juice and coffee bar too. 

Pre-booking for wellness sessions is essential and rooftop access is by arrangement through the front desk.
