There is so much to do in and around Cape Town on the full moon nights, be it a quiet beach picnic or a glorious hike up Lions Head… the choice is yours.
We have compiled a list of activities you can do on the nights of the full moons
Experience a full moon on the mountain - the closest thing to getting out there and enjoying the outdoors at night.
Must have: Loads of fresh water, snacks and warm clothes.

2. Dirtopia Full Moon Hikes
Must have: Bring torches (for walking down) and something warm to wear.

3. Full moon picnic at Taalmonument
Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or they can order one from Volksmond Coffee Shop’s picnic menu.
Must have: Visitors are reminded to bring warm clothes and a torch.

4. Annual Bat Run
Held on a February night around full moon and involves a night run | walk up three of Cape Town's most famous mountains - Devils Peak, Table Mountain and Lions Head.

5. Tafelberg Road
Enjoy the full moon rise, when Lion’s Head is silhouetted in the setting sun and the city lights begin to twinkle. If you prefer to get away from the cars, the Contour Path can easily be reached.
6. Clifton Beach
Rated as one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world, Clifton is famous for a real Cape Town tradition of picnics and sundowners on the beach during full moon.
