The Blue Room at Grub & Vine is Cape Town’s latest hot new jazz venue. It’s a collaboration between well-known local jazz musician Buddy Wells and Grub & Vine chef patron Matt Manning. Top local artists will headline in this moody, gorgeous space. Go for the music, but you’ll get great food and cocktails, too.

All directions should lead to this atmospheric live music and cocktail lounge. This is a great little space for jazz and blues lovers. A long leather seat lines one wall, with small tables set out along its length and along the opposite wall, creating an alluring and intimate atmosphere. The stage is raised slightly and set to the front, so you can watch, but also enjoy the convivial dining and drinking set-up.

Every Wednesday to Saturday you can enjoy a live show while savouring a decadent dinner. Enjoy the jazzy sounds of artists like Allou April or Darren English.

The menu features seasonal plates (small plates designed to encourage sociable dining) or a cheese and charcuterie board. It’s a lovely, convivial experience – book your spot ahead of the time.

The Blue Room’s signature cocktails are quite unique. Try Clover and Blue, a gin-based cocktail, or the refreshing Southside on Bree and then there’s the easy-drinking Paloma – there’s a story behind each one (but it’d spoil the fun if we tell you).
