Naledi’s Festive Dream, the V&A’s children’s play

Santa visits the Mother City to see what Joy from Africa’s all about

Naledi’s Festive Dream, the V&A’s Christmas children’s play, was created specifically for our Mother City. Expect spirited hip-hop elves, dancing candy canes, and vibrant costumes and music that shows what a Capetonian Christmas is about. With multiple daily shows from 14 to 22 December 2024, it’s a delightful holiday activity for the whole family.

LOCALLY-INSPIRED CHRISTMAS PLAY  

This dreamlike festive production follows Naledi, a 10-year-old Capetonian, who invites Father Christmas and his crew to the Mother City. 

There’s quirky characters like dapper nutcrackers, spinning snowflakes, and hip-hop elves. The show bursts with music, dance, and festive cheer, bringing an African festive spirit to life. Read more about the V&A’s mission to celebrate an African festive season.

IT’S AT THE V&A AMPHITHEATRE    

The play is showing at the V&A amphitheatre, which has been transformed into an immersive indoor theatre for Naledi’s Festive Dream. 

It’s 40 minutes long and runs from 14 to 22 December 2024, with two daily shows from Monday to Thursday and three from Friday to Sunday. 

Tickets are R100 and can be booked on Webtickets.

MORE FESTIVITIES AT THE V&A
