If you listen extra carefully, you can hear yourself salivating at just the thought of this festival. It’s gross, we concede, but the idea of the best of Cape Town’s pizza and pasta makers all assembled in one place is enough to make us a little loopy. On Saturday, 16 September 2017 the very first Pizza and Pasta Festival is adding inches to our waist – but joy to our hearts – at The Range in Tokai.
In a sea of foodie festivals that currently surrounds Cape Town, the Pizza and Pasta festival is a refreshing break from the norm. To us, this festival has already elevated itself to the position of Best Way to Spend a Saturday, Ever. Why? What other event brings together two of Italy’s best loved food exports? In fact, don’t answer that because we’re too busy planning how many days we will have to fast beforehand! #CardioIsHardio

Various vendors and food trucks will be in attendance to delight your palate with their pizza and pasta creations. The best is that they will all be selling pizza by the slice so you can try as many as you want (budget and stomach capacity dependant, obviously). The vendors making fresh pasta will also be selling smaller portions so you can sample all the different styles and flavours you want. We guarantee this one is going to be a feast that you’ll never forget!
Wondering who the vendors are? We bet! Here is a list of some of the confirmed food vendors for the very first Pizza and Pasta Festival:
And that’s only naming a few! If you want to stay in the loop, then head over to the Facebook event page and keep an eye out for their posts!

If you think that this festival only has pizza and pasta to offer (a good start though), you are wrong. What goes best with pizza/pasta/both? That’s right, alcohol. Some of Cape Town's favourite liquors will be available at the festival, including craft beer, gin and more wine than the Italians consume at Christmas (jokes, nowhere near, but still plenty for everyone!). The kids are welcome to attend too, the organisers have made sure that there are various activities to keep the little ones happy and entertained. Also, the festival have secured themselves a lekker line-up of local artists!
