Sotano, Mouille Point’s easy-breezy Mediterranean eatery, adds an international spin to Cape Town restaurant culture’s tired, old winter special routine. Rather than just slash prices – which the restaurant has done too – or offer guests a watered down version of the à la carte menu, Sotano has made an effort to ward off the winter chill with cuisine from warmer climes.
Each week, from June 4 to September 23 2012, the Atlantic Seaboard local will be honouring a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern nation by moulding a three-course set-menu around the flavours and ingredients that feature in each respective country.
Thus far, the list looks to include fare from Greece, Italy, Portugal, Lebanon, Morocco, Spain and France; meals are priced at R120 per person (drinks excluded).
Additionally, Mediterranean-inspired snack platters have been marked down to a mere R60, every Wednesday the restaurant features 2-for-1 lamb burgers, happy hour specials run daily between 4pm and 7pm, and the eatery now boasts an impressive selection of lunch specials.

For a real treat, spend a Sunday unwinding in the company of Rivertones, a Bob Marley cover band, while you spend less and enjoy more.
