The grand Palm House Boutique Hotel is home to two dining destinations which are also open to day visitors.
Palm Terrace serves elevated small plates and family-friendly favourites from breakfast through to dinner, as well as Afternoon Tea, Afternoon Cheese and Wine Sessions and their latest offering, the Friday Night Steak Club.
And de Tafel offers a considered six-course tasting menu with a sustainability focus featuring contemporary Cape cuisine.

Both restaurants are helmed by Gregory Henderson, also known as The Forage Chef. He’s committed to preserving wild foods and the heritage of indigenous ingredients, and his approach to sustainability shines throughout both menus.
Palm Terrace, the more casual of the two restaurants, opens out to the sunny outdoor terrace, which overlooks the property’s namesake palm trees and trickling fountain. It's lovely for long afternoon lunches.

Palm Terrace’s special offerings are a wonderful way to experience this hidden gem.
The daily Afternoon Tea, an elegant array of savoury and sweet bites, is a treat. It’s served daily between 2pm and 5pm and bookings are essential. You could book a spa treatment at the Açaí Spa and Wellness Oasis and enjoy Afternoon Tea afterwards.
There are also Afternoon Cheese and Wine Sessions, where four WWF Conservation Champion wines are paired with some of the finest cheeses from small producers around the country like Langbaken, Belnori and Stonehouse. It’s served daily from noon until 9pm.
For Friday Night Steak Club, you can choose from one of three steak options (all sourced from ethically-reared veld-fed cattle) and sides like roasted bone marrow and chargrilled cauliflower. Handcrafted wines from WWF Conservation Champion wine estates are paired with the steak.
For more details on Palm Terrace’s special offerings, see the Palm House Boutique Hotel website.

The more refined dining option, de Tafel, has a six-course tasting menu firmly in step with the seasons and farm and ocean-minded sustainability.
There’s dishes like Asian chilli ginger crab (Knysna river crab and a velvety sauce packed with Cape Malay flavours) and sustainably-caught kingklip with pickled fennel.
Wine lovers will appreciate the impressive collection centred on boutique Cape estates, with a sommelier on hand to guide guests through wine pairings over dinner.
Wherever you choose to dine, this grand home turned 5-star hotel is brimming with charm and character. The grande dame of the southern suburbs also has luxurious suites and an Açaí Spa with a wellness oasis. Read more about Palm House Boutique Hotel in Wynberg.
