Winter Curry Buffet Special at Blowfish Restaurant

Tuck into a belly-warming all-you-can-eat spread for under R100 every Thursday at this West Coast eatery

Studies have revealed that consuming a hearty, spicy curry actually has quite a few health benefits.  More specifically, research has reportedly shown that cinnamon and cumin can destroy up to 80% of meat-borne bacteria, garlic can lower cholesterol, red pepper can serve as an anti-inflammatory and ginger can slow bacterial growth by 25%. 

Why are we telling you this?  Well, we don’t want you to feel too guilty when you are indulging in Blowfish Restaurant’s winter curry buffet special.   The all-you-can-eat spread is on offer at the Blouberg-based eatery every Thursday, from 6pm to 10pm until 31 July 2014, and the folks over there encourage you to go for seconds, thirds and more. It would be rude to say no.

“It’s all about comfort eating and enjoying rich, tasty, hearty meals. The curries on offer will definitely warm you up,” says Head Chef Neil Wolfaardt .

And while the idea of tucking into spicy and aromatic fare in the midst of the chilly season is sure to warm the soul, the fact that the buffet special rings in at a mere R99p/p is also likely to get some good vibrations going. 

The spread features five bold curry options, and those enamoured with Indian-inspired cuisine can expect flavourful seafood, chicken and fish curries; not to mention, meat-eaters can look forward to a lamb or beef option, and the non-carnivorous folk can count on tucking into a delectable vegetarian dish.  

Though, if you are not in the mood for a spicy meal, you can opt for one of Blowfish’s famed seafood dishes - think shellfish, calamari or linefish plucked fresh from the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

And you don’t have to feel guilty about munching on the seafood either as the eco-conscious eatery was among one of the first in Cape Town to be certified by the Southern African Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SASSI).

Not to mention, Blowfish encourages the entire clan to come for a belly-warming meal as the family-friendly restaurant boasts a kiddies corner with colouring pages, biscuit decorating and children’s books.
