The Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore looks pretty unassuming, until you take the lift to the 11th floor on a Friday at about 5pm and discover DJs playing live music, excellent Cosmos (and other cocktails), incredible views of Table Mountain and the CBD and a lively mix of locals and tourists enjoying the vibe at Harald’s Bar & Terrace.

The Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore is located a few minutes from the Cape Town International Convention Centre and a short stroll from many of the CBD’s major office buildings – so if you’re in town for a conference or work in the city, you won’t have to walk far to get to this Friday after-work spot.
Harald’s Bar & Terrace is quite intimate and feels like a secret, but there’s a definite buzz once the locals start arriving after work. There are also hotel guests of course, so there’s always someone interesting to strike up a chat with.

It really feels like the weekend when you’re sipping a cocktail, staring at the sky turning orange behind Table Mountain and there’s a live DJ and a swimming pool (for hotel guests) in the background.
The music is chilled to start, but picks up as the evening goes on – there’s definitely room for dancing (the DJs like it) if you’re in the mood. DJs play every Friday night at Harald’s from 5 to 9pm.

Have we mentioned the view? And the cocktails? There are loads to choose from – the Cosmos are some of the best in town (and strong). There’s also wine and beer or mocktails, if boozy drinks aren’t your thing. You’ll probably be hungry – there are plenty of bar snack options or bigger meals on the menu, like burgers and really good fish and chips.
Ask the barmen at Harald’s to suggest a cocktail – they know their stuff. Image: Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore
