Jersey Boy by Schalk Bezuidenhout
Get your weekly dose of funny with everyone’s favourite Jersey Boy
Schalk Bezuidenhout is back, hot off the success of Jersey Boy. The local funny man returns to the Baxter Theatre from Monday, 16 to Saturday, 21 October 2017 for a run of hilarious shows that will inject some laughter into your work week.
Schalkie has opened up for some pretty massive comedians – they’re not massive physically, but rather in reputation. Some of these include Trevor Noah, David Kau and Donovan Goliath. He’s graced the stage at a few of the biggest comedy festivals in the country and delighted the audiences with his quick wit and rather colourful jersey collection.
Jersey Boy is an interesting title for a comedy show, but not if you know anything about Bezuidenhout. He loves donning a fancy jersey; the brighter the better. He has outrageously coloured jerseys depicting landscapes, animals, phrases and even one that has his own face on it! I love a loud jumper at Christmas time, but Bezuidenhout takes that love to a new level; they are his thing. David Kau has his hat collection, Trevor Noah is known for his accents and Marc Lottering has his signature silver streak.
Have a little look at the at the last time he hit the stage in a delightfully bright jersey, much to the delight of the audience:
Schalk Bezuidenhout takes his comedic material from the everyday life of South Africans; whether it’s the politicians we elect, the weather we enjoy, the people we see or the stuff that happens. The last running of Jersey Boy sold out very quickly so make sure that you get your hands on those tickets else you’ll miss out on seeing his extensive selection of sensational jerseys.
