Whether you’re a tattoo-lover or afraid of needles, now’s the time to explore – The South African International Tattoo Convention is back, bigger and better in 2019, with 10 new faces joining this showcase of international tattoo artists.
90 of the world’s best artists from Germany, Hong Kong, China, Poland, Netherlands, America, the UK and of course, South Africa, will be coming together at The Lookout at the V&A Waterfront for a weekend of total tattoo appreciation.
WHAT’S YOUR STYLE?
Discover what type of tattoo you might like, or uncover a design you never thought you’d love. You have the opportunity to experience a range of different artistic styles and deal with artists who will help you make the right decision for your first, or next piece of body art.
Get tattooed by any of the visiting artists – simply pre-book your appointment by contacting the artist directly through the Tattoo Convention website.
MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT
The show is dedicated to tatts, but you can make a weekend of it with live tunes from acts like Runaway Nuns, Retro Dizzy and The Valley. The organisers have also expanded the market which will have fashion, chocolatiers and a fully stocked beer garden among other things.
There will also be food trucks like the Polynesian-inspired Wahine Food Truck and Tacos Locos, a deck bar with a spectacular view and a large tented beer garden.
TICKETS TO THE SOUTH AFRICAN INTERNATIONAL TATTOO CONVENTION
Tickets for Friday cost R195pp, Saturday R280pp, Sunday R240pp and a full weekend is R590. Kids under 12 get in free but adults must book online.
