Off The Grid Music Festival Hits The West Coast
Jam out to over five music genres until the sun sets
The annual Off The Grid Music Festival is back with a bang. The event is set up on the lush organic farm of Camphill Village West Coast, inviting the entire family to explore over five music genres on Saturday, 17 March 2018.
The music line-up on the day ranges from rock, hip hop, electro, afro funk as well as pop music. Live performances from The Steezies, Bootleggers Blues Band, and The Kiffness are highly anticipated. As well as a vibrant act from The Cape Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensemble, blowing the crowd away with their rendition of classic and contemporary music.
Camphill Village West Coast is a dynamic community centre, and home to over 95 intellectually disabled adults who spend their days working on the farm in a dairy, bakery, cosmetics workshop and on the land. The Off the Grid Festival is a fundraising event, to assist them in becoming more sustainable as an organic organisation, as well as opening their doors to spend the day with different families and building stronger bonds with the community at large.
“This is our 4th music festival and we are thrilled with our 2018 line-up. This year we also want to focus on making it an environmentally sustainable event, to tie in with the goals of Camphill Village. We are hoping to encourage groups to cycle to the event, and we will even have a party that walks along the west coast to the event,” says Camphill Village West Coast MD James Sleigh
Along with these event initiatives, there will also be art installations, a Camphill market, kids safe zone and entertainment area, SAB tent and a variety of food stalls.
