Take a road trip over the Piekenierskloof Pass, not for the stunning views from the summit (that's a bonus) but for De Tol Farm Deli, where you can do quirky tea pairings, eat roosterkoek and buy local produce. Plus it's family and pet-friendly.

The most unusual pairings are – wait for it – tea and gin or wine. Try two gins, infused with matching teas - there’s a citrus chai and floral berry flavour (both includes a tonic mix). Or opt for something less daring, like pairing three teas with three chocolate truffles. Then there’s a tea and nibbles pairing where you pair three teas with artisan nougat, fudge, and lemon caramellow. And, for the nougat lovers there’s also a pairing perfect for you.
All tea pairings are less than R150. Image: De Tol Farm Deli
You can try the above pairings from the Carmien Tea Shop on site, and you can also taste De Tol’s own Gluhwein and Cold Brew teas at no charge. Bring the kids along; they can pair cold-brew teas with some sweet treats.

The farm stall and deli offer a variety of home-baked goods and other local produce. Don’t miss the famous roosterkoek, topped with syrup and cheese; bacon, egg and cheese; homemade hamburger patty; boerewors or classic ham, cheese and tomato. Besides a selection of teas, yummy food and wine, De Tol also has an events venue that can be hired for special occasions. Keep an eye on De Tol’s social media channels for events like chilled sunset sessions and live music.
