Rocking 4 Cancer at Club Westend
Dance in the name of Cancer Awareness Month
This year, Rocking 4 Cancer celebrates five years of raising funds for local cancer organisations. In honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is in October, Club Westend in Rylands plays host to this musical affair on Friday, 6 October 2017. Proceeds from the event will be donated towards the Breast Care Foundation based in Athlone, so put on those dancing shoes and prepare to party in support of a meaningful cause.
The theme for the night is ‘A Dash of Pink’, so keep that in mind when thinking of your outfit – or bend the rules of subtlety and dress head-to-toe in flamingo shades.
Keeping things going as the MC will be the glamourous Kia Johnson, Radio 2000 presenter and kickass businesswoman. An exciting lineup of local musicians will be heating up the club, many of whom you may recognise from the SABC 3 breakfast show, Expresso. Singer Felicity Kiran, who you may know from the group Woman2Woman, will bring her killer voice and sassy edge to the stage; and she’s just one of the many awesome acts you can look forward to.

The Breast Care Foundation provides support to those who are affected by breast cancer, and assists people with free screenings to ensure early detection. Its help is geared towards people living with little to no income and involves giving them lifts to hospitals, food parcels, funds, clothes, blankets, counselling and enabling them to get mammograms and prostheses. The NGO also does work around HIV awareness.
