BOOK OUT THE MAIN HOUSE WITH A HEATED POOL

A full chef’s kitchen, large vintage lounge, heated pool, artisan pizza oven and hot tub are just some of the cool characteristics of the Opstal House at Cederkloof.

This is just the communal atmosphere needed for a friend-cation, and the perfect setting for a big gathering.

Friends and families can celebrate a 30th, 40th, 50th on the wrap-around veranda with a braai and pizza oven, while kids run around the lawn and take a dip in the pool or wood-fire hot tub.

The house has five bedrooms sleeping ten, with the fairytale campsite right across the lawn for additional guests.

PAIR UP IN COTTAGES

If you’re a smaller group, or want a bit more “me-time” during your trip, the cottages are just as magical, with its private veranda, heated jacuzzi and cosy kitchen. There are 10 self-catering cottages cascading down the kloof, some are bachelor-style and others are two bedrooms – each within walking distance from one another.

The cottages have everything you need for your friend-cation, including a braai on the veranda, big pots and pans for a family-style dinner and loadshedding lamps for an uninterrupted card game or board game.

Cederkloof Botanical Retreat is just off the road to the famous Baths Hot Springs. The ancient valley is filled with small forests, citrus trees and curious coves that make for a good nightcap or picnic spot, from the Wise Woods and hot spring Jacuzzis to rock arches found on the hiking trails.
