Everyone needs a Zip Zap evening. Here's your opportunity to see the famous circus troupe’s daring acrobatics and flawless display of aerial skills before they head to Paris. Zip Zap’s philharmonic circus show Rhapsody premieres 3 November at the Artscape's Opera House. Then it goes to play in Europe’s biggest dome-style circus tent (seats 5000!) Cirque Phenix.

RHAPSODY, A WORLD-CLASS PHILHARMONIC CIRCUS

Rhapsody includes traditional and contemporary acts, accompanied by a 17-piece big band and two dynamic Cape Town vocalists.

The musical showcase of acrobatic skill set to the foot-stopping sounds of a live troupe of musicians is a must-see. Dr Marlene Le Roux, CEO of Artscape Theatre Centre, calls Rhapsody a “breathtaking production with world-class circus acts in tandem with a world-class orchestra.” There are only six shows, playing from Thursday, 3 November until Sunday, 6 November 2022.

LED BY LEGENDARY CONDUCTOR AND MUSICIANS

Rhapsody combines Zip Zap’s daring acrobatic acts with the magic of exceptional musical talent, led by Chad Hendricks, the renowned Cape Town orchestral conductor, and Josh Hawks, original bass player and singer for pop group Freshlyground.

Janine and Riyaan Cornelius, two of Cape Town's dynamic singers, are also part of the troupe of musicians.

Rhapsody forms part of Zip Zap’s 30-year anniversary celebrations. For three decades, the company has used the circus as a vehicle for social and professional upliftment, giving kids the opportunity to dream by nurturing new talents through the circus acts.
