Treat your ears to a veritable feast of sound candy at the rebranded Nu World Music Festival (formerly known as the Cape Town World Music Festival), an annual concertfeaturing performances from artists from all over the globe that is set to take over the Cape Town City Hall on Friday, 17 and Saturday, 18 July 2015.
Backed by the City of Cape Town, the two-day aural fest returns to the Mother City boasting a carefully curated line-up of music from a variety of continents, cultures and genres. This time around, the fiesta aims to showcase far more afrocentric acts so audiences can expect a unique journey that covers everything from roots, electronic and traditional styles to modern, plus all the tunes in between.
Whether you’re a jazz cat, a hipster, a music nerd, a hash tagger or hash smoker, you’re bound to find something that tickles your eardrums and more than likely to discover a new act to obsess over.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE 2015 CAPE TOWN NU WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL
The headlining acts include Mzansi’s very own Simphiwe Dana, rapper Riky Rick, Austrian beatmaker Dunkelbunt, as well as Congolese singer and musician Kanda Bongo Man amongst many others.
Along with all the live performances, festival-goers will get the opportunity to attend free talks and master classes led by the participating artists and a few industry leaders, making this an all-round not-to-be-missed affair for anyone who is serious about their music. The talks start on Saturday, 17 July at 2pm, but stay tuned to the official website for more details.
