Live music & craft beer at Woodstock Brewery
Springbok Nude Girls and Arno Carstens play here. Plus the beer rocks
Last updated: 15 November 2024
Weekends are all about good vibes, music, and beers, and Woodstock Brewery nails all three. The restaurant and brewery is famous for their cheeky beer names, inspired by sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll. But did you know they have a beerhall which comes alive with live music every weekend, and they have hosted some legendary bands, like the Springbok Nude Girls? See what they have coming up this festive season.

FOR LIVE MUSIC LOVERS
The brewery is at the bottom, and at the top is the Bavarian-style beerhall, which is also the live music venue, where they host gigs every week (usually on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) on the raised stage area by the windows.
Friday and Saturday shows start around 8pm and the music is everything from indie, rock, and metal to blues and Afrikaans folk.
Sunday sessions are relaxed, with acoustic sets, folk storytelling, and jazz to wind down your weekend.
Shows are usually sit-down, but sometimes they clear the space for a dancefloor or moshpit. Image: Woodstock Brewery
UMBRELLAS, MURALS, BEER OF THE WEEK
The beerhall has umbrellas hanging from the ceiling and vibrant murals splashed across the brick walls. There’s plenty of seating options, from bar stools and big benches to a balcony with a view of Albert Road, the vibiest street in Woodstock.
It’s relaxed, whatever the day, which makes it a chill place to pop in with a group of friends, to enjoy beer tastings, including the brewer's limited small batch beers along with the music. There’s plenty of parking (for up to 50 cars).

HOME FOR SOUTH AFRICAN LIVE MUSIC
Opportunities can be scarce for musicians, and through their live music sessions, Woodstock Brewery supports local talent, by offering them a venue. They have invested in top of the range sound equipment and have an on-site sound engineer to ensure the best live music experience.
They have hosted some epic concerts, including legends of South African rock, Springbok Nude Girls, Black Mamba Man, who’s wowed the crowd with his captivating Zimbabwean folk music, and The Deadbeats, known as the best '80s cover band in South Africa.

BEERS, BURGERS & BIG GAMES
Beyond the music, the food and drinks also rock. You can have your option of craft beer with comforting classics like smoked brisket, chicken zinger burgers, wings, and loaded fries with smoky bacon and cheese sauce, because who doesn't love beers and burgers?nbsp;
You can explore the tasting tray, where you can sample all nine beers on tap (or you can customise your own selection for just R12 per 100ml), or book a tour of the brewery and learn about the history of the old paint factory turned brewery.
For sports fans, there are four TVs and a massive 2.5m x 4m screen for all the big games.
